Connection types

The following types of connections need to be defined either in SAP ERP or the hybris Management Console(hMC), to connect the two systems(hybris and SAP):

• HTTP Connections, defined in SAP ERP and hMC
• RFC Connections, defined in hMC
• TCP/IP Connections, defined in SAP ERP and hMC

HTTP Connections:

HTTP Connections are named connections of type G(HTTP Connections to External Service) in SAP Systems.

You need these HTTP connections to establish connections between the following SAP systems and hybris Commerce Suite (one HTTP connection per data flow direction and SAP system):

• From SAP ERP to the hybris Data Hub(needed for master data replication for Asynchronous Order Management as well as Synchronous Order Management)
• From the hybris Data Hub to SAP ERP ( needed for the replication of hybris Customers and Sales Orders for Asynchronous Order Management)

The following HTTP connections are optional and need to be defined only if the respective hybris extensions / SAP Systems are used:

• From hybris Commerce Suite to SAP CAR ( needed for point-of-sale information)
• From hybris Commerce Suite to SAP hybris Marketing ( needed for Segmentation (ex ADT) and Recommendation (ex PRI)

RFC Connections:

RFC connections are needed for synchronous calls from hybris Commerce Suite to the SAP ERP system.

There are used for

• Synchronous Order Management Scenario
• Synchronous Pricing
• Synchronous ATP check(>available from hybris 5.5)

you define them in hMC. Before creating RFC connections, secure the RFC connection using secure network communications.

TCP/IP Connections:

TCP/IP Connections are named connections of type T(TCP/IP Connection) in SAP Systems.

You need this connection to download your configuration master data from SAP ERP Central Component(ECC) System to the hybris Commerce Suite.

Configuration Master Data inlcude

• Product Master data in your knowledge base(MATMAS, LOISTD, CHRMAS, CLSMAS, CLFMAS)
• Customizing Data Relevant for Pricing(COND_A)
